In Acts 19:15, Luke makes an interesting comparison between the evil spirit's experience with Jesus and Paul. First, Luke says that the spirit's knowledge of Jesus is of a first hand experience, ginosko. Jesus has dealt with him [evidently] in the past, re: Gospel accounts.
Second, the spirit's knowledge of Paul is epistamai, i.e., to put one's attention on. The spirit has watch Paul's reaction to the difficulties that were sent his way. Paul's reaction was always the same - no matter what, Paul used each trial, tribulation, beatings, imprisonment, demon possessed girl, the same way - he talk about Jesus.
What an example - for us today.
